The International Education Center fosters a learning community in which students, faculty and staff, and community members develop global literacy, cultural empathy, and cultural self-awareness. Our program offerings include international student services, study abroad, and professional development including faculty/staff exchanges, international grant-funded initiatives, and multicultural events. International Student ServicesThe International Education Center provides support services and immigration advising for approximately 130 international students representing 45 countries. Information on international student admissions for prospective students as well as a list of forms and links for current students are provided. Study AbroadThe International Education Center offers students exciting study abroad opportunities in 30 countries all over the world. Students can chose from over 80 programs – be it spring, fall or summer term. In addition, the center offers a variety of faculty-led short-term study abroad programs each year during the winterim and summer term. Faculty & Staff DevelopmentThe International Education Center offers various opportunities for Brookdale faculty and staff to become active in international education. Initiatives include sponsoring faculty led short-term programs and promoting grant opportunities. International Events CalendarThe International Education Center presents international and intercultural events every term on the Lincroft campus. Activities include films, lectures, excursions, and the International Education Week in fall and the International Festival in spring. Unless otherwise stated, all events are free and open to students, faculty, staff and the community. Global Citizenship SERVICE ProjectThe Global Citizenship Project was developed by faculty, Thomas Berke, Ph.D. (Chemistry), Terry Konn, Ph.D. (Health Sciences) and Howard Miller (Speech) to encourage faculty and staff to engage students and the Brookdale Community in discussions of global issues to encourage students and community members to become global citizens by implementing plans of action through student clubs, assisting existing non-profit organizations, volunteerism, experential learning and a host of other means.
